What is included in the tour price?

Guided interpretation, photography assistance, park access, water, light snacks, and a complimentary lunch from a licensed local food provider (up to $20 value per guest).
No food is prepared by Coastal Mountain Adventures.

How long are the tours?

Tour lengths vary from 4 to 8 hours depending on the experience. Each individual tour page lists the duration so you can plan accordingly.

Are tours suitable for beginners?

Yes. Most tours are designed for all experience levels. We adjust pacing and routes based on group comfort. Some tours offer optional moderate sections.

What’s the general group size?

Coastal Mountain Adventures specializes in small-group, personalized experiences.
Most tours run with 1–4 guests for comfort, safety, and flexibility.

Bookings & Cancellation

How do I book a tour?

You can book directly through our website. Simply select your preferred tour, choose a date, and complete the reservation form.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before your tour.

  1. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable.

  2. If CMA cancels due to weather or unsafe conditions, guests receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.

Can I reschedule a tour?

Yes, rescheduling is allowed as long as it is requested at least 48 hours in advance and availability permits.

Do you run tours in all weather?

Tours operate rain or shine, as Vancouver Island’s coastal weather is part of the experience.
If severe weather or unsafe trail conditions occur, we will contact you to reschedule or refund.

FOOD & LUNCHES

Is lunch included?

Yes — every day tour includes a complimentary lunch allowance of up to $20 per guest.

Depending on the tour location, guests may receive a gift certificate to a participating local food provider, or choose from available nearby dining options. We’re happy to recommend local favourites, or guests can let us know their preference.

Coastal Mountain Adventures covers up to $20 per full paying guest. Meals are prepared and provided directly by licensed food establishments and are not prepared by Coastal Mountain Adventures.

Can I bring my own food?

Absolutely. Guests are welcome to bring personal snacks and drinks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & SAFETY

Do I need hiking experience?

No previous hiking experience is required, but guests should be comfortable with moderate physical activity and walking on natural, uneven terrain.

Our tours vary in difficulty, distance, elevation, trail conditions, Some routes include steep, rocky, muddy, slippery or uneven sections and may be challenging for guests with limited mobility or lower fitness levels.

Please review difficulty and physical requirements listed for your chosen tour before booking.

What should I bring?

Please come prepared for changing weather and natural trail conditions.

Are there age restrictions?

Most tours are suitable for ages 10+, but younger children may be accommodated on certain routes — contact us before booking.

PHOTOGRAPHY QUESTIONS

Do you help guests take photos?

Yes! Photography assistance is part of the experience. We’re happy to help take photos of guests, capture scenic shots, use your phone or camera, and point out some of the best vantage points along the route.

Can you take photos of us during the tour?

Absolutely — your guide can take photos for you upon request at any viewpoint or scenic stop.

Do I need a professional camera?

No. A smartphone is more than enough to capture amazing West Coast scenery. Professional cameras are optional.

Are private tours available?

Yes. All Coastal Mountain Adventures tours are currently private experiences. Your booking is reserved exclusively for you and your group- we do not combine unrelated guests into the same tour.

We may introduce larger group experiences in the future, but our regularly offered tours are currently private.

Can I book last-minute?

Yes-

last-minute bookings may be available depending on guide availability and the selected tour. We recommend booking in advance whenever possible, especially during peak season.

For very short bookings, please contact us directly to check availabilty.

Do you offer multi-day adventures?

Multi-day trips such as the West Coast Trail will be available in future seasons once the business expands and logistics are finalized.
