Experience one of southern Vancouver Island’s most spectacular coastal landscapes on a private guided adventure through East Sooke Regional Park.

Follow the Coast Trail through dense rainforest and along rugged shoreline, stopping at dramatic ocean viewpoints, hidden coves and some of the park’s most memorable coastal features.

With your group as our only guests, we can adjust the pace and route while still giving you a genuine West Coast hiking experience.

This is a real coastal hiking adventure with constantly changing terrain and scenery.

• Hike sections of East Sooke’s famous Coast Trail
• Explore rugged shoreline, forest trails and hidden coves
• Take in sweeping views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Olympic Mountains
• Visit scenic coastal landmarks and viewpoints along the route
• Watch for marine and coastal wildlife
• Plenty of time for photos, breaks and exploration

• Route and pace adjusted to your group and trail conditions

Expect roots, rocks, uneven terrain and sections of rugged coastline. You don’t need to be an expert hiker, but you should be comfortable spending several hours exploring outdoors.

Experience approximately 10 km of East Sooke Regional Park, following rugged coastal and forest trails through one of southern Vancouver Island’s most spectacular landscapes.

Explore sections of the Coast Trail, rocky shoreline, hidden coves, rainforest and sweeping ocean viewpoints, with time throughout the adventure for photos, wildlife viewing and breaks.

Because this is a private experience, the pace can be adjusted to your group while completing the approximately 10 km adventure.

With each full paid admission, guests receive a $20 gift certificate to a participating local food establishment to enjoy after the adventure.

Transportation is not currently included. Guests meet their guide at the designated East Sooke Regional Park trailhead.

🥾 Adventure Timeline

9:00 AM — Meet & Safety Briefing
Meet your guide at the designated East Sooke Regional Park trailhead for introductions, a safety briefing and an overview of the approximately 10 km adventure ahead.

9:15 AM — Coast Trail Adventure Begins
Head onto the trail through coastal rainforest and rugged terrain, making your way toward the first major viewpoint.

10:00 AM — Beechey Head
Reach Beechey Head, with time to take in the expansive coastal views, explore the area and capture photos before continuing along the Coast Trail.

10:30 AM — Rugged Coast Trail Exploration
Continue deeper along East Sooke’s coastline through forest, rocky shoreline and changing terrain, stopping at scenic viewpoints and interesting features along the route.

11:00 AM – Trap Shack
Arrive at the historic Trap Shack after continuing along East Sooke’s rugged Coast Trail. Take a short break to explore the area, enjoy the surroundings and capture some photos before continuing.

12:00 PM — Coastal Exploration & Break
Take a short break along the route before continuing through some of East Sooke’s spectacular coastal scenery. Keep an eye out for marine and coastal wildlife along the way.

1:00 PM — Return Through East Sooke
Continue the adventure back through the coastal and forest trail system, with final viewpoints and photo opportunities along the way.

2:00 PM — Adventure Concludes
Return to the designated trailhead after approximately 10 km of guided hiking.

After your adventure: Each guest receives a $20 lunch credit to enjoy at a participating local food provider.

Exact timing may vary depending on group pace, weather, trail conditions and time spent at viewpoints.

Each guest receives a $20 lunch credit after the adventure to use toward food or drinks at a participating local provider. Food is not prepared or handled by Coastal Mountain Adventures.

• Trail conditions: East Sooke includes rocky, uneven and potentially slippery terrain. Sturdy hiking footwear is strongly recommended.

• Weather: Adventures operate in typical West Coast weather, including rain. Routes may be adjusted if weather, trail conditions or park advisories affect safety.

• Wildlife: Wildlife sightings are possible but cannot be guaranteed.

• Seasonal daylight: Afternoon departure routes and timing may be adjusted as daylight hours shorten.
