Coastal Community Adventure provides opportunities for local individuals and families who face financial or transportations barriers to experience a fully guided outdoor adventure at no cost to them.
Selected participants receive the same complete experience we provide our paying guests—
because everyone deserves the opportunity to get outside, explore, and create lasting memories.
HOW IT WORKS
Each month, Coastal Mountain Adventures aims to provide a complimentary guided adventure for a local individual or family who may otherwise face barriers to participating.
Adventures may include transportation, guided hiking, a meal, and access to essential hiking gear where needed — creating the same complete experience we strive to provide every guest.
Participants are selected based on available spaces, individual circumstances, suitability for the adventure, and the resources available through the program.

02 — SELECTION
Applications are reviewed privately and respectfully. Selection is based on need, suitability and available program resources.
03 — ADVENTURE
Selected participants join us for a complete Coastal Mountain Adventures experience at no cost to them.
GUIDED ADVENTURE
A complete guided hiking experience with Coastal Mountain Adventures.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Our goal is to remove as many barriers as reasonably possible so selected participants can simply enjoy their adventure.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation assistance may be provided where needed and available.
MEAL
A meal is included so participants can enjoy the same complete experience offered to our paying guests.
GEAR & SUPPLIES
Essential hiking gear or supplies may be made available when needed, subject to availability.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT MAKES IT POSSIBLE
Coastal Mountain Adventures funds this initiative alongside contributions from people and businesses who want to help make outdoor experiences more accessible.
Contributions to the Coastal Community Adventure Fund may help cover transportation, meals, hiking gear, supplies and other direct costs associated with providing community adventures.
Where resources allow, the fund may also help reduce financial barriers for children participating in Coastal Junior Hikers, including families who may otherwise have difficulty covering program costs.
Every contribution, regardless of size, helps us create more opportunities to get people outdoors.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Coastal Community Adventure is intended for local individuals and families who may experience financial, transportation, equipment, or other barriers that make accessing outdoor adventures difficult.
You do not need to prove financial hardship or provide sensitive financial documents to apply. We simply ask applicants to tell us a little about their circumstances and why the experience would be meaningful to them.
Applications are considered individually, and participation is subject to available program resources, appropriate adventure availability, and our ability to safely accommodate participants.
You can apply for yourself, your family, or nominate someone you believe could benefit from an adventure.
GOOD TO KNOW
Coastal Community Adventure is offered based on available resources and adventure availability. Applying or being nominated does not guarantee selection.
Participation in guided adventures remains subject to our standard safety requirements, participant information, acknowledgements and waivers.
We respect the privacy of applicants and will not publicly identify participants or share their circumstances without permission.
