This week’s adventure details
Coastal Trail & Ocean Exploration
Neck Point Park — Tuesday, October 20, 2026
About This Adventure
Our Junior Hikers will explore the coastal trails of Neck Point Park, travelling through forest, Garry oak habitat and rocky shoreline while discovering some of Nanaimo’s beautiful coastal environment.
The park contains approximately 3 km of trails, including flatter sections, stairs, viewpoints and access to several small beaches. Our exact route and distance will be adjusted to the age, pace and abilities of the crew, as well as weather and trail conditions.
Along the way, we’ll focus on trail awareness, teamwork, outdoor confidence and responsible exploration while taking time to observe the forest, shoreline and local wildlife. Neck Point is recognized by the City as an environmentally sensitive area, which also gives us a great opportunity to introduce respectful outdoor practices.
