School’s out, adventure begins!
At Coastal Junior Hikers, we believe childhood should be filled with adventure, exploration, friendship, and opportunities to connect with nature.
Our after-school adventures give children ages 5–16 the opportunity to explore local trails, discover wildlife, build friendships, and develop confidence through meaningful outdoor experiences.
From the school bell until approximately 5:00 PM, Junior Hikers enjoy guided outdoor adventures designed around their ages, abilities, and interests.
What Our Adventures Include
Small, supportive adventure crews of up to eight children
Guided hiking, forest exploration, and nature-based learning
Outdoor games, teamwork, and opportunities to build confidence and independence
Flexible recurring enrollment from one to five days per week
School pickup and transportation options where available
Each adventure is coordinated with families based on their community, available crew members, and designated meeting locations.

Making Outdoor Adventures More Accessible 🌿
Our Own Community-Funded Adventure Initiatives
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to experience the outdoors, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
That’s why Coastal Junior Hikers has developed its own community-support initiatives, designed to make outdoor adventures accessible to more families.
These opportunities are supported through regular-paying enrollments, helping us build a sustainable program that gives back to the communities we serve.
Coastal Community Adventure Program — FREE Spaces
Our Coastal Community Adventure Program is our very own privately funded initiative, created to provide eligible children with fully sponsored outdoor adventures.
As each adventure crew establishes sufficient regular paid enrollment, our goal is to offer one FREE supported adventure space per qualifying crew each month, subject to available capacity and funding.
Our Planned $10-a-Day Adventure Initiative
We’re also working toward introducing our own $10-a-day after-school adventure opportunities for selected families who may benefit from more affordable outdoor programming.
This initiative is independently operated and would be funded through Coastal Junior Hikers. It is not affiliated with British Columbia’s government-funded $10-a-Day ChildCareBC program.
How Our Community Commitment Works
Our goal is to make up to two supported spaces available within each qualifying adventure crew:
One FREE space through Coastal Community Adventure.
One reduced-rate space through our planned $10-a-day initiative.
These opportunities will become available only when sufficient regular-paying enrollments have been established to financially support them, and when staffing and crew capacity allow.
Supported participation may include recurring weekly adventures or occasional adventures, depending on available resources and individual family needs.
Every regular enrollment helps us work toward giving another child the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow outdoors.
